Ms Koh & Yummie Dinner :D

March 19, 2006

ms koh, my ex-econs lecturer asked me out for lunch this afternoon but i had to turn her down cos’ mummy had started cooking. thereafter i received the following sms from her which i believed it was sent to most of her beloved ex-students as well:

“my sweet soul! must bother u. some bs (business) students are organising a charity concert in aid of the Children’s Charities. in the midst of global and local distresses, to know that there are still caring students around certainly warms the cockle of my heart. i know you are a warm, sensible, sweet soul who can sing or compere. may i request your assistance to sing at this concert- to spread the msg of LOVE. the lecturer in charge is mr. leow. may i have him to contact u to give more details? any of yr other friends can help too? god bless.”

gawd i simply love ms koh. her wits, knowledge, enthusiasm, her everything has made her a favourite lecturer amongst business students. and imo, she’s the most humble, helpful, and sweetest teacher i’ve ever met! i remembered the first tutorial she locked me out of the classroom cos’ i was late (serves me right -_-), and in the 2nd tutorial she bought me mrs field’s muffins? wtf? i couldn’t exactly get her gesture or intention but, from that moment on, i knew instantly she was a different and an extraordinary person who would treat her students well if and only if you could prove yourself (and to her) that you could be oustanding. and regarding that sms, i don’t know.. i’d love to help by singing or hosting but.. singing.. haiz.. though my vocals are better than in previous years, but it’s the thought of going up on stage which would trigger the bad experience i had during singapore idol. haiz.. i dunno why.. i used to be confident going up on stage hosting, acting and singing and everytime, it turns out magical.. but now.. sigh :(

anyway, so i missed my lunch which~ could be a treat from ms koh lol. ah well never mind~.

in the afternoon, i went to:

buy breadtalk.
buy new shaver.
buy chocolates.
take my ties for gj.
buy baguettes.

and drove gj for yet another hogging session at breko’s at holland v.
let’s sum up what we had:

i had a smoked turkey ham chez avocado sandwich, a muchata z’art baked potato & cups of ice water. he had a squity shrimp pasta, the smoked turkey ham chez avocado sandwich & cups of ice water.
and we both share a huge basket of potato wedges.

bill: $33.20.
cheap for what we had! no service charge!! no extra gst or tax!! basically most of the time we had to self-service, we bill at counter, we collect our ice water etc etc.. and their menu’s fantastic!! lots of choices till you’re bonkers. like under bites, they have like what.. erm.. potato wedges, french fries, golden squid, fried wings, onion rings, honey wings, chicken nuggets and whatnot.

ambience: B+, we didn’t exactly have good seats but i had a tv in front of me and erm.. the temperature for the dining setting was perfect. not too cold not too warm. just nice~. tables and chairs were ordinary but clean and neatly arranged.

conclusion: a gd place to hang out with friends or alone for casual reading. gd food at very reasonable prices. even gj’s psychology lecturer, dr swarovski was there reading an essay. geez tat shall be my hangout next time if i need a cosy place to chill out or do my work. if i study in nus that is.

after that drove gj to jurong east so he could get to his cousin’s funeral by 9.30 and then came home.

… a nice way to end my weekend :)
